I am pleased to present the ninth part of my article series on inspiring people in my life. My inspiring colleague Julia Jungclaus-Knigge is on the ‘hot seat’ today. You can find the past interviews with myself, Susanne, Annika, Kirsten, Karen , Jin, Martina and Laura linked to the names.
This is all about people who inspire me as a coach and trainer.
The interviews will be, depending on the preference of the interviewee, in English or German.
This interview is with Julia Jungclaus-Knigge, who shares what inspires her, what she enjoys and more. We know each other originally from a training we were both taking part in not so long ago, about 1.5 years now. We became friends over shared values and enjoy working together. I am in awe that she fit in this interview with all the other things going on in her life and hope her answers inspire you as much as they did me, and leave the floor to Laura. Enjoy the read!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Supporting people and teams on their journey to becoming more successful and satisfied is an incredible motivator for me.
I love the “moment of insight” when the coachee gains a new perspective on their topic or a team in a workshop begins to better understand how they work together.
The continuous development I am able to support on the part of my clients, as well as my own, which is fostered by working with constantly changing people and perspectives on the world, resonates with me.
When you’re working on something new, where does your inspiration come from?
Everywhere. A chat with someone in my network, an exciting article… I enjoy being inspired and am a very curious person. My various activities further promote exchange and development.
As a trainer, coach, and manager, the demands placed on me and my development are always diverse in nature.
But right now, my greatest inspiration is probably my little daughter. Incredible, the masterpiece of acquiring skills in her first years. For me, she’s a true role model for perseverance and the reason to delve back into developmental psychology.
If we had asked you 10 years ago, what would your answers to these two questions have been?
The enthusiasm and motivation that comes from working together was already a driving force for me 10 years ago.
Today, however, I can perceive this much more clearly and, thanks to a lot of reflection, I have a better understanding of my own development path. The professional experience I’ve gained has made me more confident, and thanks to my expanded toolbox of methods, I can offer significantly more services today.
If you could choose the next question: what would it be? And what would your answer be?
Is what you’re doing right now making the world a better place?
I don’t remember who gave me this question. But it’s a good compass for so many incredible moments in life, and a “yes” answer is a wonderful, motivating feeling!
Thank you, Julia!
