I am to continue my series of articles, following the first article, with an interview with Annika.

It’s about people who inspire me as a coach and trainer.

The interviews will be, depending on the preference of the interviewee, in English or German.

My colleague Annika Jans will be sharing what inspires her, what she enjoys and more. I hope her answers inspire you as much as they did me, and leave the floor to Annika. Enjoy the read!

What do you particularly enjoy about your work?

Seeing people rediscover themselves, (re)discover their own strengths, and set out on a path to shape their lives even more in a way that suits them.

I love creating this space where it becomes possible to encounter oneself and others honestly and on equal terms.

The energy that is then released inspires me again and again!

When you’re working on something new, where does your inspiration come from?

I usually find inspiration when I’m intensively engaged with a topic. That can be on my own, when I’m reading a (specialist) book or listening to a lecture.

But it often happens when I’m talking to colleagues. I always find it stimulating to consider different opinions and perspectives.

If we had asked you these two questions 10 years ago, what would your answers have been?

I think the answers would have been similar.

But today, unlike 10 years ago when I was still in permanent employment, I feel that as a freelancer I have even more opportunities to use what I enjoy and what I see as my strengths in my everyday working life.

This is a great privilege and fills me with joy and satisfaction.

If you could choose the next question, what would it be? And what would your answer be?

That’s not so easy 🙂 One question I find fascinating is: what do people need for a successful life?

In my view, in addition to basic needs such as security, food, and a roof over your head, it is especially encounters with other people, yourself, and nature that make life fulfilling.

We humans are social beings and need interaction—the pandemic has shown this once again.

Thank you, Annika!
