I am pleased to present the eighth part of the my article series on inspiring people in my life. My inspiring colleague Laura Drees is on the ‘hot seat’ today. You can find the past interviews with myself, Susanne, Annika, Kirsten, Karen , Jin and Martina linked to the names.
This is all about people who inspire me as a coach and trainer.
The interviews will be, depending on the preference of the interviewee, in English or German.
What do you particularly enjoy about your work?
I am self-determined. Because I can (and must 😉 ) make my own decisions in every situation. This is very valuable to me.
I am also inspired by the diversity I encounter in my job.
Every assignment, every coachee, every participant is different. I find it very enriching to build sustainable relationships that can lead to mutual learning and growth – whether in coaching, training, or long-term consulting.
When you’re working on something new, where does your inspiration come from?
Especially through interaction with colleagues. I also enjoy watching YouTube videos, listening to podcasts, and passionately pursuing continuing education.
My creative flow arises primarily when I’m interacting with other people, pondering new concepts and approaches, or discussing strategic approaches.
That gives me an incredible amount of energy.
If we had asked you 10 years ago, what would your answers to these two questions have been?
Probably very similar. But significantly less self-reflected and conscious.
I’ve invested a lot of time in my personal development over the past few years to become even more clearly positioned for myself and my work.
My most recent permanent position at the IT agency Protofy played a significant role in this. I’m very grateful for that.
If you could choose the next question: what would it be? And what would your answer be?
If you had a message for people around you, what would it be?
Investing in yourself has an incalculable ROI (return on investment).
It’s not always easy for us to invest time and money in personal development. Whereas a new pair of shoes is often a quick purchase ;).
In my experience, however, engaging with oneself is much more sustainable and leads to greater satisfaction in life in the long run – even without new shoes.
Thank you, Laura!
